Marketing And Direct Sales – Introduction To Interdependence

Posted by admin on Jan 25, 2010

Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been discussing the last few weeks.

Our objective is to become effective.

We’ve discussed what paradigms and principles are in relation to our efforts to become effective.

The first three habits are all about private victory: becoming proactive; beginning with the end in mind; putting first things first. These are things we do on a personal level. These things move us from dependence to independence.

The next three habits are all about public victory, things we do in relation to others. These are the things that move us from independence to interdependence.

Before we move on to the fourth habit, let’s talk a bit about interdependence.

Remember that effective interdependence can only be built on a foundation of true independence. Private Victory precedes Public Victory.

This change can be very dramatic for some people, a whole new way of thinking.

It has been said that we must like ourselves before we can like others. I believe this to be true. But before we can like ourselves, we must know ourselves. This is what the first three habits are all about, getting to know who we are, what we’re all about.

Independence is an achievement resulting from internalizing the first three habits.

Interdependence is a choice only independent people can make. It’s all about relationships. This is the ideal place to be in an Internet Income Opportunity and Direct Sales Marketing.

We may say and do things, but are they really in alignment with what we believe at our core? This is what sets the effective person apart from those who are not. Effective people live in a manner that is in harmony with their inner core, as their actions and behaviors are based on unchanging principles.

We talked about The Seven Habits as working from the inside-out. This is crucial when we start to build relationships. We must be clear on what’s inside of us, before we can move to the outside, dealing with others.

Tomorrow we’ll talk about levels of trust in relationships. How we can build trust, and how we unwittingly destroy it.
