Begin With Praise And Honest Appreciation

Begin With Praise And Honest Appreciation.

This principle works well at home, work, or for your Internet Income Opportunity.

Do you remember the last time you did something wrong and someone had to correct your actions? If it was handled as most people do, they just jumped right in and gave you heck. Perhaps you learned from the reprimand, but you most likely remembered the experience because it made you uncomfortable, embarrassed, and belittled.

Now put yourself in the shoes of the person who must do the correcting. How could it be handled better to avoid the discomfort you felt when you were on the receiving end?

Being a redhead, we are well known for our short temper. I have learned over the years to let an amount of time pass before dealing with problems. This gives me time to cool down, if necessary. This also gives me time to think about the approach I’m going to use when I speak with the person in question.

If necessary, do some research about the person you must speak to. What are their good points? What is their track record?

Now that you are prepared, be sure to speak with the person in private. There is no need for anyone else to overhear the conversation.

Begin by praising their good points, and expressing honest appreciation for their contributions. Then, and only then, should you continue to the issue at hand.

It’s always easier to listen to unpleasant things after we have heard some praise of our good points.

Try this approach, and see how much better the results can be.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Direct Sales Marketing.

Hi Nancy,

How are you, I totally agree with what you are saying here. It is so easy to say negative things and knock us off track, it is also easy for us to do the same sometime.

By stepping back from the situation and taking time to reflect before making your point we will get the message across in a much more constructive way.

Hi Beth,
I’m fine, thanks for asking.
I appreciate your comments.
I have found that any time I need to have ‘one of those conversations’ it is always better to let it sit for a few hours. This gives me time to ‘cool down’ if necessary, and think through what I want to say and how to best say it to get the point across without hurting people in the process.
