Throw Down A Challenge

Posted by admin on Oct 27, 2009

Throw Down A Challenge.

We all have fears. Fear of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of success! This last fear can have a devastating effect on your Direct Sales Marketing.

What greater challenge is there than the opportunity to overcome our fears?

Challenge yourself to overcome your fears and make a success of your Internet Income Opportunity.

The first step is to identify your fears. How can you possibly overcome your fear if you have no idea what your real fear is? This is hard-core reality time! Be honest with yourself. Take your time and dig deep, not just the surface stuff.

Now comes the challenge part. Challenge yourself to conquer your fear.

Analyze the fear. Is the fear real or just a form of procrastination? Is the fear a reaction to facing the unknown?

Be methodical. Write down your fear, and then write down what causes the fear. What steps can you take to overcome your fear?

Not only do you want to conquer your fear, you want to excel beyond merely accomplishing the task. You want to do the very best that you can do.

I have found that education on a subject usually calms my fears. This tells me that my fears were merely of the unknown. Once I have more knowledge, the fear disappears.

We touched on the principle of importance awhile back. Conquering your fears, learning new skills, excelling in the task at hand, these things will give a feeling of importance that you have created for yourself.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Home Business.

Dramatize Your Ideas

Posted by admin on Oct 26, 2009

Dramatize Your Ideas.

You see it everywhere. Just watch your TV for an evening, and you’ll see what I mean.

Real life crime shows do dramatizations to show you the crime. This gives them the ability to show the circumstances from more than one point of view.

Commercials do dramatizations to show you the benefits of their products and how their products are better than the competitor’s.

They can tell you a story, but you understand better and remember more of what they are saying with dramatization. You now have a picture to go with the words. This is much more powerful than words alone.

I am using this principle with this video series I’m doing for my Internet Income Opportunity. You get to see me, get to know me a bit, and you probably remember my message better than you would have done with this blog entry alone.

Use your imagination and you’ll think of dozens of ways to use this principle for your Direct Sales Marketing.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Online Marketing Business Opportunity.

Appeal To Their Nobler Motives

Posted by admin on Oct 23, 2009

How to Win Friends & Influence PeopleWelcome back! Let’s continue the discussion relating to my reading of How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.

The next principle is – Appeal to the nobler motives.

People usually have two reasons for doing something: one that sounds good and a real one.

Because people believe they are unselfish by their own standards, try appealing to the unselfish side of people, their nobler motives.

This principle fits in very well with the current trend in Direct Sales Marketing: give before you expect to receive.

Help others to help themselves.

Provide potential prospects with free, valuable information before discussing your Online Marketing Business Opportunity.

I’m a perpetual student, so I find this approach brilliant! Every day I learn new things that I can use in my money making home business, while researching topics to share with potential customers. So, while I’m educating my readers, I’m educating myself!

That’s a win-win in my books.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Internet Income Opportunity.

Be Sympathetic To Other’s Ideas And Desires

Posted by admin on Oct 22, 2009

How to Win Friends & Influence PeopleWelcome back! Let’s continue the discussion relating to my reading of How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.

The next principle is – Be sympathetic with the other person’s ideas and desires.

The next time you are really agitated about something: sit down, write a scathing letter, and lock it away somewhere for two days.  In two days, take out the letter and read it.  Chances are pretty good that you will no longer have the desire to mail it.

Why is that?

You’ve likely had time to cool down, and the issue is not as upsetting as it was when you wrote the letter.  You’ve had time to think about the situation from the other person’s point of view, and perhaps you are more sympathetic to their circumstances.

If you sympathize with someone’s point of view, they will likely sympathize with yours.  You will have the satisfaction of controlling your temper and treating the other person with kindness and respect.

Here’s a great way to eliminate bad feelings, create goodwill and make people listen to you.  Say something along the lines of: “I don’t blame you one bit for feeling what you do.  If I were you I would probably feel the same way.”  This can go a long way when speaking to your Direct Sales Marketing prospects.

Give it a try, and see the reaction you get.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Online Marketing Business Opportunity.

See Things From Their Point Of View

Posted by admin on Oct 21, 2009

How to Win Friends & Influence PeopleWelcome back! Let’s continue the discussion relating to my reading of How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.

The next principle is – Try honestly to see things from the other person’s point of view.

The person you are talking to may be totally wrong, at least as far as you’re concerned. But remember, they don’t think so. Try to understand them and see things from their point of view.

There is a reason why they think and act as they do. If you can figure out that reason, you have the key to their actions, perhaps to their personality.

Try honestly to put yourself in their place – walk a mile in their shoes. How do things look now? Seeing things through another person’s eyes can ease tensions and help to avoid possible misunderstanding.

Try to make their ideas and feelings as important as your own. We all want that respect from others. Accepting their viewpoint will encourage the listener to have an open mind to your ideas, and your Online Marketing Business Opportunity.

The saying is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” I’d like to expand on that – say unto others as you would have them say unto you. Think about how you would like to receive the information you are trying to impart to someone. What type of presentation would inspire you to be interested in Direct Sales Marketing?

Make every effort to think in terms of the other person’s point of view, and see things from that person’s angle as well as your own.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Internet Income Opportunity.

Let Them Think The Idea Was Theirs

Posted by admin on Oct 20, 2009

How to Win Friends & Influence PeopleWelcome back! Let’s continue the discussion relating to my reading of How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.

The next principle is – Let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers.

I have found that I have more faith in ideas that I discovered for myself, rather than those inflicted on me by someone else.

How about you?

I prefer someone to make suggestions then let me come to my own conclusions. This is how I found my Direct Sales Marketing business. I got the facts, weighed the facts, and decided that this was the right opportunity for me.

Try to consult with people about their wishes and desires. Learn what makes them tick. Learn why they are interested in an Online Marketing Business Opportunity. Make suggestions that get them interested, get them thinking about it on their own.

No one likes to feel that they are being sold something or told to do a something. They prefer to feel that they are buying because of their own decisions, acting on their own ideas.

This principle works in business and politics as well as your family life.

Once someone has made the idea their own, let them keep it as their own. Never correct them by saying that the idea was actually yours and not theirs. You should never care about the credit, just the results. Give public credit to the other person if they desire it.

Don’t spend your time trying to sell someone, let them sell themselves.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Internet Income Opportunity.

Let The Other Person Do The Talking

Posted by admin on Oct 19, 2009

Let the other person do a great deal of the talking.

When trying to win someone to your way of thinking, who does the majority of the talking? If you’re like most people, it’s probably you.

Next time you have a prospect on the phone for your Direct Sales Marketing, try using this principle, and let the other person do most of the talking.

Ask them questions; let them tell you what’s on their mind.

You will be tempted to interrupt if you disagree with what they are saying. Don’t. Encourage them to express their ideas fully before responding.

As a parent this can be very difficult to do. You see your child making mistakes and you want to save them from themselves, save them from making the same mistakes you made at their age, so you continue to give advice. This cannot be helped, but make sure that you are listening to your child when they speak to you. You may find that they have important information to share with you if you give them the chance.

It’s not difficult to get people to talk. Most people like to talk about themselves and their experiences. Simply ask a few questions to get them started.

Once you have provided all the information needed to make an informed decision about your Online Marketing Business Opportunity, let the other person make the decision on their own. Most people will weigh the information fairly in their mind and come to the conclusion that is right for them.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Internet Income Opportunity.

Say “Yes, Yes” Immediately

Posted by admin on Oct 16, 2009

How to Win Friends & Influence PeopleWelcome back!  If you’ve been following my posts you’ll know I’m reading How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.

The next principle discussed is – Get the other person saying “yes, yes” immediately.

This technique is now called the “Socratic Method” after Socrates, one of the greatest philosophers of all time.  He understood this principle, and used it way back when …

Studies in human behavior show that we have a natural tendency to move in either a positive direction, or a negative one, when we are communicating with one another.

If the conversation starts out negative, it will have a tendency to continue in a negative vein.  On the other hand, if the conversation begins on a positive note, it will have a tendency to continue positively.

Keeping this in mind, try to begin all conversations in a positive, agreeable mode.  Discuss things that you agree on and the conversation will take on a positive tone.  Emphasize the fact that you are both striving for the same thing; the only difference is your method for achievement.

In relation to your Online Marketing Business Opportunity, your common goal is success, making a living with your internet marketing business.  These are the facts that you can agree on.

This principle works very well in everyday life, as well as Direct Sales Marketing. Try it and see for yourself!

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Internet Income Opportunity.

Begin In A Friendly Way

Posted by admin on Oct 15, 2009

How to Win Friends & Influence PeopleWelcome back!  If you’ve been following my posts you’ll know I’m reading How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.

The next principle discussed is – Begin in a friendly way.

“A drop of honey catches more flies than a gallon of gall.” – Lincoln

Do you remember Aesop’s Fables from your childhood?

Remember the one about the sun and the wind: they argue over who is the stronger of the two.  They wager over who can get the man on the street to remove his coat first.  The wind blows and blusters, but the man only tightens his grip on his coat.  The sun then begins to shine, and the man removes his coat.

The moral, friendliness and kindness will always be stronger than brute force.

If you pay attention to the people around you, you will see this fable enacted in real life.

The customer complaining at the department store: the product is no good; didn’t perform the way they expected.  Chances are fairly good that the customer who approaches customer service in a kind and friendly manner will get what they want more often than the person who storms in demanding satisfaction.

Ill temper can be a very dangerous thing.  You may get a sense of satisfaction from the release, but how will the subject of you anger react?  Do you think that they will be more, or less, willing to assist you with your desires?  As in everyday life, letting your temper get the better of you will not serve you in your Online Marketing Business Opportunity.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Internet Income Opportunity.

If You Are Wrong, Admit It!

Posted by admin on Oct 14, 2009

If you are wrong, admit it quickly and emphatically.

As the saying goes – the best defense is a good offense.

When you’re wrong, don’t try to defend yourself, go on the offense. Say all the things you know the other person is thinking and is going to say, and say them before that person has a chance to. The chances are good you’ll encounter a generous, forgiving attitude and your mistakes will be minimized.

There is a certain degree of satisfaction in having the courage to admit your errors. It clears the air of guilt and defensiveness.

When you’re right, try to win people tactfully to your way of thinking, and when you’re wrong admit it as soon as possible and with enthusiasm. Remember this one when working the phones for your Internet Income Opportunity.

I’ve tried to apply my knowledge and understanding of these ideas in the operation of my Online Marketing Business Opportunity.
